Good for you! You’re heading over to Cape San Blas beaches to take in the clear blue ocean water, and secluded beaches. Unlike the more popular tourist areas, this Florida hidden gem has stunning natural beauty, but not as many markets, robust restaurants, and shopping opportunities. But no worries, this beach town and its dazzling sunsets is also home to convenient grocery and liquor stores where you’ll find everything you need for a wonderful getaway…and then some! Each one in this fantastic line-up offers its very own touch of personality.
We embraced them all, from a traditional general store vibe to an authentic island outpost. Each one had something special to cater to our every wish, want, and need, including bringing our order right to our rental doorstep. Whether you’re looking for everyday needs, special treasures to take home, a quick bite, or a drink for Happy Hour, there is something special about Florida’s welcoming charm, and you’re going to love it, hook, line, and sinker!

Scallop Cove General Store: Quirky With Big Personality

If you enjoy shopping and exploring in a more quirky, art-inspired vibe, then check out Scallop Cove General Store. This little shop boasts a big personality and instantly invites you to see and explore every inch of its space. It felt like a traditional general store, mixed with a cozy, laid-back beach shack. We found an impressive grocery selection, but the real magic here is the tempting hot food counter. Even if you aren’t hungry you’ll be tempted to take a bite.
Perfect for any meal, especially when you are heading out and need freshly brewed coffee, a grab-and-go lunch, or craving a bite to eat after a long day on the beach. Another fun feature is their rental opportunities for bikes, kayaks, golf carts, pontoons, and paddle boards.
Make sure you check out their souvenir and gift selection. You’re sure to find something quirky like a colorful t-shirt or other memento for someone special or for remembering your Florida vacation.

We couldn’t resist the fried goodies and added on some mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and seasoned tots to test and share. Leave some room for the creamy and luscious an ice cream cone. You’ll be glad you did.
Duren’s Piggly Wiggly: Convenient and Full Service With A Smile

Campers, beach bums, and everyone in-between will love Duren’s Piggly Wiggly. Their product mix is amazing with over-the-top convenience, a fantastic grocery selection, and freshly baked bread. You walk in and all of your senses go into high gear so make sure you grab a grocery cart even if you think you don’t need one. You do! You have to try their fried chicken. It is so juicy and tender, perfect for a picnic on the go. And if you’re a sushi fan, like we are, they roll a tasty selection while you wait.
It’s super fresh and perfect to pack up and hit the beach, boat, or outing. This well-rounded, full-service outfit even bakes and decorates delicious custom cakes. We were celebrating a birthday and the cake exceeded our expectations, topped with candy bars, kisses, and sprinkles.
The thing that shined the brightest was their southern hospitality and TLC. We highly recommend you pay a visit to Duren’s Piggly Wiggly. It’s well worth your time.
The Port Fine Wine & Spirits: A Beer, Wine and Spirits Experience

Most convenience and grocery stores in Cape Sans Blas carry beer, wine, and some spirits, but none so extraordinary as The Port Fine Wine and Spirits. Whether you drink or not, you have to check this place out. They have a beer cave showcasing 175 perfectly chilled tasty brews.
It’s a booze-lover’s playground. The colors, labels, multiple bottle shapes, and the way they are displayed are amazing. You have to see it to understand it.
We never dreamed a liquor store could be so cool. Plus, they have more than 10,000 bottles of brands and specialty craft beers, many exclusive to Florida brewers. They also carry an impressive cigar selection. If you’re craving a refreshing alcohol-free drink, add one of the fruity or sweet mixers to your cart and toast a fabulous vacation with a mocktail!
Cape San Blas might be considered one of Florida’s best-kept secrets, but we’re happy to give a shout-out to our favorite grocery and liquor store finds. Have fun in the sun and shopping in the most charming spots loaded with products, personality, and southern hospitality, just waiting for you.
