If you’re looking for fine dining with a view, look elsewhere! However, if down home Gulf Coast cooking in a casual atmosphere sounds good, then Peachy’s Beach Eats will be right up your alley.

This casual restaurant is located on St. Joseph’s Peninsula, a narrow strip of land bordered on one side by the Gulf of Mexico and the other by St. Joseph’s Bay. It’s long been a destination for bird watcher’s and beach lovers alike, and Peachy’s is situated just a few miles from T.H. Stone Memorial State Park.

When you arrive at Peachy’s, you’ll be greeted by a welcoming, bright orange porch, and plenty of signage to tell you exactly what to expect (“Good Food, No Service” is their unofficial motto). The menu is limited and straightforward, and no substitutions are allowed. To order, you and your party simply fill out an order card, total your price, then place your money on top of the order sheet and hand it to the staff.

Your meal can be enjoyed on site at one of several casual tables, or, better yet, you can take it to go and enjoy it beachside on the Gulf side of St. Joe’s Peninsula.

On our recent visit, our order included the following house made items:

Grouper Sandwich
Featuring over 1/2 pound of fresh Gulf Grouper, this was a loaded, messy delight with plenty to take back to our vacation rental as leftovers.

Peachy Shrimp Tacos
An unexpected treat, these delicious tacos also offered a very generous portion of seafood, paired with the sweet (but not too sweet) taste of fresh peach.

Smoked Pulled Pork Tacos
The house smoked pork is clearly Peachy’s signature dish, and for good reason. Tender, well seasoned pork paired perfectly with slaw, making for a very satisfying lunch.

Loaded Nachos
Peachy’s also offers basic cheese nachos for the kids (as well as a basic pork and cheese taco on the small “Kids’ Menu”), but those with more grownup appetites would do well to try the Loaded Nachos complete with pulled pork and fresh peach salsa. A meal in itself!

Peachy’s is a great option for visitors to Cape San Blas looking for a nicely prepared meal without the fuss of table service. While prices are a bit higher than you might expect for a counter service beach joint, the quality and portion sizes explain the costs easily. With several items that would share nicely in a large group or family, Peachy’s won’t break your budget, but will give you some great eats and a bit of local character in a very beautiful, unique part of the Gulf Coast.

Insider Tip:
Peachy’s is strictly cash or check only, and Cape San Blas only features a few businesses on this narrow peninsula, so come prepared to pay for your meal. There is an ATM located at the Trading Post next door if you’re in a pinch!
