The Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club recently enjoyed a major facelift–and it’s been praised as one of the best course renovations in Florida. This 18-hole, par 72 golf course has something for everyone, from beautiful new practice facilities to a clubhouse equipped with friendly, professional staff.
Expect gorgeous, meticulously maintained greens that offer a smooth, straight roll. The course is fairly challenging but offers reasonable scoring opportunities. This course is unique in that it includes a variety of elevation changes–more than you’d expect for a coastal course–and two holes with direct Gulf-front views. Six different tees offer something for every handicap and skill level. Experienced golfers will find a challenging, competitive course, while beginners will find accessible, beginner-friendly tees that allow room for growth.
The Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club completed a renovation in 2021 that completely changed the course design, added an acre of greenway, and revamped the greens in their entirety. Visitors who returned after the renovation report a completely different experience; once-sandy greens that made putting difficult had been improved vastly, replaced by lush turf which allowed a smooth, seamless roll.
While the full 18-hole course is the hallmark of the club, it’s not all you’ll find here. A brand new short game facility spanning 6,200 square feet allows plenty of thoughtfully designed space to practice pitch and chip shots. Or, if you want a warm-up before hitting the course or just to play a quick round for an hour, you could opt for the shorter 6-hole Loop course, which is located right beside the clubhouse. All the facilities offer thoughtful designs, friendly staff, and carefully crafted features that make them a delight to use.
The clubhouse itself is a two-story, plantation-style structure that seamlessly fits the scenery. You’ll be warmly welcomed when you step through the door, and the restaurant (Vue on 30A) boasts mouthwatering cuisine. Check the hours before you go; hours do vary widely depending on the season and private events that may be scheduled.
