The Summer Kitchen started as a counter-serve walkup restaurant on Rosemary Beach in 1999. Today it’s a casual sit-down restaurant by day and a fine dining experience at night. Their front-porch seating pairs a great atmosphere with fresh sea breezes, while the classy but comfortable interior seating offers the luxury of climate control. Local beers on tap, fresh American-esque cuisine, and attentive service make this restaurant a Rosemary Beach favorite among locals and tourists alike.
When you walk through Summer Kitchen’s cheery, colorful doors, you’ll be met with a smile and a homey atmosphere. Much of the interior seating is at the spacious bar. The dining room offers casual comfort, and the menu itself features an array of American and Gulf Coast favorites.
Some of our favorite menu items include…
Stop by the Summer Kitchen in the morning, and you’ll be met with a simple menu that manages to please pretty much everyone in most groups. Their most popular breakfast item (apart from the Illy coffee they serve) is their omelet. Select your favorite cheese, meat, and veggie options, and prepare to enjoy a succulent omelet perfectly-cooked and made to order every time. The sheer variety of meat and veggie options make the omelets here a worthwhile experience.
At lunchtime, it’s hard to go wrong with a Summer Kitchen salad. Each one is freshly prepped with house-made ingredients. Whether you choose the City Greens Farm Salad, featuring spring mix, feta, tomato, onion, pumpkin seeds, and honey balsamic dressing, their albacore tuna salad, or another fresh concoction, you’ll be delighted by the fresh flavors.
Caribbean Jerk Chicken
A dinnertime favorite, the Summer Kitchen’s Caribbean jerk chicken features pineapple, peppers, onions, and tomato-jasmine rice, in addition to tender, marinated jerk chicken. It’s just the amount of spice to tickle the palate, with beautifully-balanced Caribbean seasoning that’ll keep you coming back for more.

It’s served up with stone-ground grits and the fresh flavors of asparagus and saffron butter on the side. For grouper aficionados, it’s hard to go wrong with this dish.
