Upon opening The Leisure Club Coffee Bar & Restaurant, the owners set out to create a truly iconic space built upon brand new culinary ideas. Rather than brewing up any kind of beans, they go above and beyond in sourcing the best possible varieties from family-owned farms located around the world. As they purchase these beans at much higher rates than fair trade, they help increase economic opportunity for their farmers and give back to their communities.

The beans are always at their freshest as well, since they have them batch roasted on a weekly basis. The roasting process starts each Monday and continues until the beans reach absolute perfection. Then, they are shipped to the shop by Thursday, providing everyone with the best flavor possible. So, whenever you come in for a cup of joe, you can trust that immense time and effort went into creating the highest-quality fair trade coffee.

Although coffee is the heart and soul of their operations, equal care goes into creating, preparing, and serving the food on their brunch menu. Across two full pages of delightful dishes, they have everything from parfaits and waffles to sandwiches and salads. They even have a few vegan sandwiches on tap for those who would rather skip the animal products.

When you visit, make sure to try the following:

Crab Cake
Made only with the finest claw meat, the Crab Cake promises to delight your senses bite after bite. They make each patty by hand, then fry them up to a rich golden brown. After that, each is placed on a bed of fresh greens and topped with a roasted red pepper remoulade.

“Matt-Wich”
As their signature dish, the “Matt-Wich” sums up everything there is to love about this eatery. They create this iconic sandwich using a freshly-baked croissant topped with generous portions of Cajun turkey, bacon, provolone, and cheddar. Lettuce, tomato, and pesto mayo finish it all off, creating a sandwich you are sure to be thinking about for days to come.

French Brie Press
For a hot sandwich to remember, you will want to try their French Brie Press. This delightful concoction starts with a French Baguette sourced from Craft Bakery. Then, they slather on fig preserves and top that with smoked bacon and brie before bringing it all together on a hot press.

Spicy “Tricken” Sandwich
As a part of their vegan fare, you will find the beloved Spicy “Tricken” Sandwich, which begins with toasted sourdough bread. They create this sandwich using crispy vegan chicken strips cooked up right and tossed in aged cayenne sauce. Over the top of the tricky chicken, they add vegan mayo and sliced pickles to finish this amazing dish.

If you are not in the mood for coffee, you are still in luck when it comes to tasty beverages. They have many different options available for the non-coffee drinkers in the bunch. You can treat yourself to organic tea of all kinds, milkshakes in your preferred flavors, and fresh fruit smoothies. They even have alcoholic bloody Mary’s and mimosas for those who want a little extra kick.

Insider Tips:
– With a purchase of a lunch or brunch trio, you can get your bloody Mary’s and mimosas bottomless on the weekends. They have a 1.5-hour limit, however, keeping you from sipping the day away at their tables.
– Since they do not have a dedicated hostess, you may have to wait for the wait staff to come through and seat you at a table.
– If you are nearby with your dog, you can stop in for a coffee or a bite to eat. You just have to sit at their outdoor tables.
