If you are visiting Pensacola with a sweet tooth, then Szotski’s Cheesecakes should be put on the top of your list of desert treats to try. This local favorite and a multi-year winner of the annual Pensacola Chocolate Fest may look small and nondescript from its business location, but don’t let that fool you! This is a great place to go and grab treats with gigantic and diverse flavors.
You will find Szotski’s Cheesecakes centered in a small strip mall along W. 9 Mile Road in Northwest Pensacola. Inside, you won’t find that much room to hang around (there are a few small tables close to the window). But that’s alright as what does dominate the interior are display cases upon display cases all showcasing the most declivous of cheesecakes and desserts.
The walls of this shop are painted a deep red and white with black bordering, much like a red velvet cake, and you will find a few fitting pieces of artwork depicting European cafes hung up. Behind the display cases is a massive sign with Szotski’s Cheesecakes scrawled across and a doorway leading into the back of the cafe where all the desert magic happens.
Szotski’s Cheesecakes is one of those small businesses that has successfully found its niche and ran with it. For this dessert company, that niche is in the mini-cheesecake industry (although they did at one time make and sell larger cheesecakes, they have since stopped the practice). All of the desserts they sell are in the form of mini-cheesecakes, about the size of a cupcake. Yet while the style of dessert sold by Szotski’s Cheesecakes may seem limited, wait until you see the variety available.
This Pensacola cheesecake specialty shop has over 200 cheesecake varieties in its repertoire. Naturally, not all the varieties they can make are going to be available on any given day. Rather, they will typically boast about 20 unique varieties in their display cases available on any given morning. About 10 of these will feature their “Favors Always in Stock” cheesecakes and another 10 or more will feature specialty flavors, keto-friendly flavors, gluten-free flavors, and savory flavors. While they will weekly update their website on what it’s anticipated, those updates are not always reliable and the very best way to know what is in stock is to stop in and check out the flavors for yourself.
Popular cheesecakes in the “Flavors Always in Stock” list includes:
Key Lime Cheesecake
You might not be visiting the Florida Keys in this part of the Panhandle, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sink your teeth into this classic Florida flavor.
OMG!
Short for Oh My Ganache! This is Szotski’s Cheesecakes’ signature cheesecake and a must for anyone new to the company.
When it comes to pricing for the cheesecakes, this company has chosen to keep things simple with the following basic menu prices (with the one exception of their being a .50 cent upgrade for all keto varieties):
- $2.50 for any Single Mini Cheesecake with scalability up to a four-pack for $10
- $14 for a half-dozen
- $25 for a full dozen
If you want more, such as looking to outfit an office or wedding party, call them directly for discount bulk pricing.
Insider Tips:
-If you are traveling with friends, family members, or coworkers who have a sweet tooth but not for cheesecake, then you can neatly hit two dessert spots in one Pensacola Shopping Center. Grab Szotski’s Cheesecakes for those who appreciate the dessert and then head just a few stores down to Hershey’s Ice Cream where you’ll find ice cream, cookies, and chocolatier items. They even have a simple food menu with sandwiches and soups.
-Every July 30th, Szotski’s Cheesecakes celebrates National Cheesecake Day. If you happen to be in town on that day, follow their Facebook page, subscribe to the event, and enjoy a mini cheesecake when you visit their location in person!
