Hooters in Pensacola Beach: Boardwalk Bites & Incredible Views: TEMPORARILY CLOSED
Local Expert's Rating:
3.5 / 5
The Bottom Line:

Pensacola Beach’s branch of Hooters delivers the chain’s classic experience with a better-than-average setting right along the boardwalk. The beachfront views compensate for the occasionally sluggish and lackluster service.

A highlight of the Pensacola Beach Hooters is the setting: smack dab on the Quietwater Beach Boardwalk, with a fantastic view of the beachfront and Santa Rosa Sound. This location and scenery add a little something extra to the establishment, which draws a diverse clientele: from sports fans eager to catch the big game to families fresh off a little beach- and boardwalk-going.

The Hooters Pensacola Beach menu includes such signature items as the Hooters Original Style Wings (only one of several wings varieties here) and the Big Hootie Burger. Other plates include the Smothered Chicken Sandwich, the Philly Cheeseteak, the Twisted Texas Melt, and both fish (grilled or fried) and shrimp tacos.

If you’re in the mood for seafood and those tacos don’t catch your eye or scintillate your taste buds, you might opt for the Snow Crab Legs or the Steamed Shrimp, available in half-pound or pound portions.

Appetizers include Fried Pickles, Cheese Sticks, Burger or Buffalo Chicken Sliders (or both), the formidable Onion Ring Tower, Hooters Chili, and the accurately named “Lots A Tots.” You can also order the chili as a side, not to mention Curly Fries, guacamole, coleslaw, and side salads.

(If you’re trying to veer away from fried and greasy pub grub, meanwhile, Hooters serves other main-course salads, including the Chicken Caesar Salad and the Shrimp and Spinach Salad.)

You’ve got a trademark Florida confection on the dessert menu—the Key Lime Pie—not to mention such decadence as the Chocolate Mousse Cake and a plethora of mini-cakes.

Ice-cold beer by the pint or the pitcher—including local drafts—is another top Hooters draw, though perhaps the day calls for a margarita instead.

Let’s take a gander at a few Hooters highlights off the menu!

Daytona Beach Style Wings
While many opt for the hand-breaded Hooters Original Style Wings or the outlandish Bacon Wrapped Wings, a major favorite at Hooters Pensacola Beach are the Hooters Daytona Beach Style Wings. This heap of finger-licking goodness sees the restaurant’s Naked (i.e. non-breaded) Wings richly doused in the house Daytona Beach sauce and then grilled.

The Big Hootie Burger
Another staple, the Big Hootie Burger puts two half-pound patties between slices of toasted brioche bun, decked out with onions, lettuce, tomato, and whatever cheese you’re hankering for in particular. A generous helping of Curly Fries completes the picture.

Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
Think of this as Hooters wings in sandwich form, basically: hand-breaded chicken breast slathered in your choice of wing sauce, dressed up with a little lettuce and tomato, and served—alongside Curly Fries and a pickle—on a toasted brioche bun.

Baja Shrimp Tacos
Flour tortillas packed with seasoned and grilled shrimp in a zesty bed of pico de gallo, cabbage, and a special Hooters sauce make an addictive entrée.

Fried Pickles
Sometimes the best things in life are simple, right? Consider cheating a bit in the diet department with a shareable platter or two of the Fried Pickles, which come alongside a wickedly tasty dipping sauce.

Not every Hooters in America can claim a backdrop as sun-kissed as Pensacola Beach’s! The beautiful sand-and-surf scenery is sure to give any meal an extra kick.

Insider Tip:
The service at Hooters Pensacola Beach can be slow, even when the place isn’t particularly busy, so if you go, expect a bit of a wait time—and maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
