Whether you’re on the hunt for a rainy day activity or simply eager to beat the heat, you’ll find yourself surprisingly eager to escape the sunshine at Rainforest Black Light Golf & Arcade. This Destin attraction brings a refreshing feel to mini golf, replacing course cliches with unexpected scenery and challenges. In addition to mini golf, you’ll find a variety of games, most of which provide a unique twist on what you’ve come to expect from the arcade experience.
There’s more to Rainforest Black Light Golf & Arcade than just golf and games, although those clearly form the basis of this inside getaway. The destination also, however, provides a visual feast, complete with glow-in-the-dark elements such as a majestic Bengal tiger overlooking one hole and a very hungry hippo ready to consume your golf ball at another. Customers rave about the clean, climate-controlled environment, which provides a welcome respite from the oppressive heat and humidity that Floridians know all too well.
A few of our favorite activities include the following:
Mini Golf
The main attraction at Rainforest Black Light Golf and Arcade, this 18-hole course features a variety of different rainforest creatures all trying to get in on the fun. If you don’t get your fill of mini golf during your first time through the course, you’re welcome to return for a second visit at a small additional charge. Be prepared for a challenge, as easy hole-in-ones do not exist at this location. Still, the course isn’t so difficult that it will discourage young children or mini golf novices.
Dodgeball
A literal throwback to the early days of elementary school gym class, Rainforest Black Light offers a fun twist on a classic game. Sting-free foam balls allow you to walk away with bruises to your ego, rather than physical injuries.
Arcade
Don’t expect to find too many 1980s classics or Dance Dance Revolution kiosks at Rainforest Black Light’s arcade; the games on display here are far more physically stimulating. Shoot some hoops against a friend at the Criss Cross basketball game, or choose from a variety of different activities using the interactive “BEAM” light system. While the kids are busy running around, adults can relax with a casual or way-too-competitive game of air hockey or foosball.
Between mini golf and unique arcade games, you should find plenty to entertain every type of visitor at Rainforest Black Light. Get ready for a fun few hours in the rainforest.
Insider Tips:
-Parking may be at a premium in some areas of Destin, but you won’t have to worry about finding a spot at Rainforest Black Light. This location shares a parking lot with a couple of restaurants, so there is always an ample supply of spots.
-Don’t be too worried if the mini golf course appears packed at the outset; typically, people start to spread out after a few holes. If, however, you intend on playing mini golf without small children and are eager to avoid crowds, consider stopping by later in the evening, when young families typically head home.
