Fine dining in Miramar Beach wouldn’t be quite the same without Segar’s, a favorite surf ‘n turf locale with a swanky atmosphere and an equally sophisticated menu. A favorite date-night spot, Seagar’s offers an extensive steak and seafood menu, along with a wide variety of menu options from caviar to South African cold-water lobster tails.
Guests come back again and again for the on-point service and fresh, impeccably-plated foods. Although the interior decor could use an update, the service and food quality make up for any style deficits. From the moment you walk through the door, you’ll get the feeling you’ve stepped into an upscale New York-style steakhouse.
Attentive service, excellent drinks, and plenty of menu options for those in search of gluten-free options make Seagar’s a no-brainer for an elegant, relaxed evening. Expect soft music and an atmosphere conducive to conversation, as well as course after course that invite you to slow down, linger, and enjoy. Locals call it “one of Sandestin’s best-kept secrets” for a reason.
Some of our favorite menu items include:
Bone-In Filet
A fast favorite, Seagar’s bone-in filet is as tender as butter, perfectly seasoned and prepared every time. The filet itself is an experience worth a trip to Seagar’s; they use only the highest quality USDA Prime cuts of beef, and each plate is presented as a work of art.
Dover Sole
Sauteed to perfection then filleted at your table and served with brown butter, capers, and lemon, it’s really hard to beat Seagar’s sole. Every bite is delicately flavorful, tender, and beautifully balanced by the lightly browned butter and bright lemon notes.
Sweet Endings Drinks
Possibly better even than your local coffee shop, Seagar’s dessert drinks combine high-quality espresso with grown-up beverages that serve as the perfect after-dinner treat. We love the Seagar’s Signature Coffee, which features Bailey’s Irish Cream, Kahlua, Amaretto, dark creme de cacao, and coffee–topped with whipped cream and luxe chocolate sauce.
Wine Offerings
Seagar’s always offers an extensive wine pairing list of over 600 labels, and servers/sommeliers are always willing to offer suggestions for pairings if you’re in doubt. The markups on a bottle are quite steep, which isn’t wholly unexpected; Seagar’s isn’t the place to go for a budget dinner.
Seagar’s is located just a couple of blocks from the water in Sandestin’s Topsail Beach area, on the ground floor of the Hilton Emerald Tower. Ample free parking and easy access from most of Sandestin’s lodging options make it a favorite stop among tourists, but it’s worth the drive even from surrounding areas if you’re a local looking for an upscale dinner on the Gulf shore.
Insider Tips:
– Reservations are recommended; call before you go to ensure you’ll have a table.
– Parking is complimentary at the Hilton for those dining at Seagar’s. Tell the guard at the Hilton gate you’re dining at Seagar’s, and they’ll provide a pass.
