Fishheads Bar crafts cocktails and other beverages at a boardwalk location in the heart of Destin’s harbor. Everyone can find a drink they’ll like and enjoy the boats passing by.
The adult drink menu at Fishheads Bar features plenty of cocktails, the headliners of which are mixed drinks that come served in coconuts, pineapples or mini watermelons. There are also a variety of beers and other adult drinks for those who prefer something less fruity, though, and customers are welcome to make requests.
Complementing the adult drink menu are milkshakes and a variety of other beverages, such as iced tea, lemonade, water and soda.
The food menu is somewhat sparse and features mostly lighter fare, but there’s enough available to get a snack or a light meal. Hotdogs, chips and sometimes locally caught seafood can be cooked up.
The real highlight here is the bar’s location on the boardwalk. Customers can watch boats going in and out of the harbor, and the bar is within walking distance of the boardwalk’s many other attractions. Ample seating ensures there’s almost always room to stop in for a drink.
Drink prices aren’t anywhere near what dive-bars might charge, but dive bars don’t have drinks that come in fancy fruits or boats passing by. Considering the types of beverages offered and where the bar is, drinks are reasonably priced.
Fishheads Bar isn’t a place you’d specifically drive to and seek out for a night on the town. If you’re already out and on the boardwalk, however, the establishment is definitely worth a visit. A refreshing beverage is always welcome on a hot Florida day or evening, and even more so when it’s served in such a prime location.
A few of our menu favorites at Fishheads Bar include:
Double Watermelon Daiquiri
Served in a mini watermelon, the Watermelon Daiquiri looks as good as it tastes. Make it a double, and the alcohol’s flavor will still be well balanced with all of that watermelon.
Mango Colada
You might not see it on the menu, but the bartenders will be happy to mix up a Mango Colada. This version makes the traditional pina colada even better by adding mango.
Beer
Sometimes there’s nothing more refreshing than a cold beer. The Beer here is well-chilled and might just be the coldest in the harbor.
Lemonade
For any children who might be with you, go for the lemonade. It’s delicious, refreshing and won’t keep them up all night.
Smoked Snapper Dip
If it’s available, the Smoked Snapper Dip is a must-try. Locally caught snapper is cooked to perfection and mixed into a rich, creamy dip that’s too good to share. Consider ordering an extra serving so you don’t have to give any away.
Insider Tips:
– If you’re looking for a place to revive yourself on a hot afternoon, this is the spot. Not only are the drinks cold, but the seating is mostly in the shade.
– There’s live music many nights of the week. Check ahead of time to see whether someone’s playing, and time your visit for the show if you’re interested.
– To get the most out of the bar’s harbor views, stop by when the fishing boats are coming in for the day. You’ll see lots of boats coming into dock, and you can rate each person’s catch.
