If you are looking for a great spot to meet a friend or have a date, consider Bitterroot. Located in the Destin Commons area, across from Henderson Beach State Park, Bitterroot offers some incredibly delicious and fresh food. The atmosphere is also nice and the waitstaff very friendly. If you aren’t sure what to order, ask for recommendations. Indoor and outdoor seating are both available.

Established in 2020, this is more of a special occasion restaurant. Expect higher prices than a regular family restaurant. However, the higher costs are worth it. The food is very good. There are many different selections for any taste for brunch, lunch, and dinner. In addition, the drink menu is impressive. It offers a variety of unique cocktails to complement any meal.

Make reservations online or by calling if you would like a table, or come in and try your luck with getting a table at the bar. Sitting at the bar is a true treat. It’s fun to watch the mixologist work and pump out the cocktails. He specializes in historical and old-fashioned drinks and infuses his own natural flavors into different types of alcohol.  Feel free to interact with the staff behind the bar, everyone’s very friendly.

Whipped Ricota Dip
A delicious take on ricotta, this appetizer is served with naan. It’s made with Register Family Farm Tupelo Honey, toasted pistachios, and sesame seeds. 

Maitake and Calabrian Flatbread
A delicious flatbread with pomodoro, ricotta, Calabrian chilies, maitake mushrooms, and parmesan.

Citrus Crab Salad
Feast upon Louisiana lump crab, citrus supreme, red bell pepper, fennel, and herb buttermilk.

Chilaquiles
Enjoy tortilla chips with two fried eggs, cardamom salsa, tomato, cannellini beans, pickled red onion, goat cheese, and cilantro.

House Ground Burger
An elevated dish, this is a house blend wagyu burger. It comes with mayo, mustard, and fries. You can also choose what else you would like on your burger. The choices are classic American with pickle, lettuce, tomato, onion, or mushroom-swiss.

Short Rib Gnocchi
Made with wagyu short ribs, this dish also comes with Fekete Farm butternut squash, mirepoix, demi-glace, and homemade ricotta gnocchi.

Hungarian Goulash
A comfort food, this dish is made with braised wagyu beef cheeks. It comes with Hungarian paprika, caraway, house-made tagliatelle, creme fraiche, and dill.

Filet 
A melt in your mouth pepper-crusted filet, this dish is served with Ranatza Farm cauliflower mash, flashed broccolini, and a demi-glace.

Elysian Fields
This cocktail is made with Titos vodka, St. Germain Lemon, and lychee.

Gentleman’s Handshake
Another unique cocktail, this selection is made with Elijah Craig bourbon, Laphroaig 10 yr, lemon peach rooibos, and house-made ginger elixir.

The menu is rounded out with a variety of dessert selections. Get your own or share with a friend or loved one. Options include Basque cheesecake, bread pudding, granny cake, or house-made ice cream. Dessert wine and dessert cocktails are also available. There’s no need to rush out when you’ve finished your meal. Sit back, relax, and enjoy these dessert choices.
