When your waterfront adventures leave you tuckered out, there’s no better place to refuel than LongBill’s on Cape San Blas. This popular beachside eatery prides itself on serving ultra-fresh, delicious food and drinks on the double. They’re quick, too, although they’ll tell you that fast food is just not their thing.

While this restaurant is now a local staple, it only arrived a few short years ago. It was built in honor of Toucan’s on the Beach, which was devastated by Hurricane Michael in 2018. As the owners rebuilt Toucan’s, they decided to bring the spirit of their beloved eatery to Cape San Blas—and the rest is history.

When you arrive at LongBill’s, you’ll first notice the rainbow of hues outside. The iconic little blue house stands against the bright blue skies, serving as the perfect backdrop for the colorful chairs out front. The vivid mural along the front gives a nod to the restaurant’s heritage while warmly welcoming visitors inside.

Once you step inside, you’re greeted by a cozy dining room filled with plenty of natural light. Windows cover every wall, offering open views of the surrounding area. Before you can take it all in, their staff will come by to help you find the perfect seat. You can either grab a table inside if one’s available or sidle up to the bar.

Either way, you’ll want to get busy digging into the menu ASAP to ensure you have enough time to decide what to order. Their menu has many unique items to consider, ranging from Drunken Shrimp appetizers to Seafood Platter entrees. Their drink menu is equally impressive, with tons of draft brews, bottled beer and seltzer, and wine by the glass or bottle.

Fan favorites on the LongBill’s menu include:

LongBill’s Mimosa
If you love mimosas, you’re going to adore LongBill’s take on this classic. Their drink starts with only the finest Wycliff champagne, of course. But after that, their formula kicks the flavors into high gear by going beyond orange juice. You actually have your choice between many unique juice flavors, like cranberry, pineapple, and mango as well.

Southern Fried Pickles
You cannot go wrong with the Southern Fried Pickles when you want to whet your appetite with zesty goodness in every bite. This appetizer begins with pickle chips lightly breaded in a zesty coating and deep-fried golden brown. Then, they’re served by the boatload with your choice of sauce, like homemade ranch, sweet chili sauce, or freshly made remoulade.

The Wonkee Donkee
The Wonkee Donkee is nothing short of extraordinary, taking the hot dog to new and exciting culinary heights. The chef at LongBill’s creates this popular entrée by putting a half-pound all-beef hot dog in a robust bun. Over that, they add chili, cheese, onions, coleslaw, sport peppers, tomato, lettuce, and anything else that catches their eye. Fries come on the side, but you can substitute a half salad of your choice for an extra charge.

There’s no shortage of sweet treats at this beachside eatery. Their desserts range from Key Lime Pie to Caramel Sea Salt Cheesecake. It’s their cast iron cookies that steal the show, however. Choose between their triple chocolate or macadamia nut cookies to get a perfectly warm cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. Yum!

Insider Tips:
-Want a pitcher of brew for the table? Ask about their monthly pitcher special. Your server will let you know which draft beer is available and how to take advantage of this deal.
-If you’d like to kick your day off right, consider LongBill’s as your breakfast spot for the weekend. They serve early morning grub on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday each week, but you have to come by before 10:30 am to get a bite.
-Want a gluten-free pizza? Request the 14” cauliflower crust instead of the traditional fare.
