Indian Pass Raw Bar - Raw Oysters and Live Music
Local Expert's Rating:
4.5 / 5
The Bottom Line:

Indian Pass Raw Bar is known for two things -- oysters and music. The oysters are best raw and the music is often live, and the combination is always fun. Clap your hands, pick up a half-shell and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Indian Pass Raw Bar has built its reputation on two staples — raw oysters and live music. While this isn’t all the establishment does, these two are certainly the main highlights.

The recommended way to enjoy the oysters here is raw and on the half-shell, but you can also get them steamed or baked if that’s more to your liking. Complementing the oysters is a simple but delicious menu of other seafood and non-seafood items, including shrimp, crab, gumbo, burgers, hot dogs, barbecue sandwiches, and sides. The corn on the cob is not to be missed, and the desserts are also a must-try.

For beverages, options are similarly basic but good. A selection of drafts, bottles, and wine coolers tempt adults, while the younger crowd can choose from Coca-Cola products.

Counter-style service where you check off your orders on a paper ensures you can always get food quickly, but most people who visit end up staying a while. When there’s live music playing and good food in front of you, it’s hard to leave such a peaceful beachside setting.

If you’re a fan of oysters, this is the place to get them. The building was formerly an oyster wholesaling warehouse, and it has been converted to bring the selfish more directly to diners. Bring some friends to order a few dozen, and remember how good a simple meal from the sea can be.

A few of our menu favorites at Indian Pass Raw Bar include:

Raw Oysters
Fresh from the sea and unadulterated, enjoy some oysters the way nature meant them to be.

Baked Oysters
For a fun twist on the shellfish, get your oysters baked. They’ll come loaded with butter, garlic, and parmesan cheese for added flavor. Ask for candied jalapenos if you want to add a little kick.

Hot, Corn, or Sausage Dog
If you’d like something a little more filling, supplement your meal with a dog. Choose from a Hotdog, Corndog, or Sausage Dog, whichever is your favorite.

Key Lime Pie
No matter where you are in Florida, you get Key Lime Pie when it’s on the menu. It’s the classic and perfect complement to any food.

Draft Beer
A palette cleanser and thirst quencher, draft beer goes especially well with oysters. Find out what’s currently on draft, and pick one that sounds good. There are always several options to choose from.

Insider Tip:
Bands and karaoke are scheduled for several nights of the week, and the place can get crowded at these times. To pass the time while you wait, though, you’re welcome to get a beverage and enjoy it in the parking lot — where you can still hear whoever is performing.
