Hungry Howie’s might not have the traditional Italian name of a pizza joint, but it’s one of the best places in town to get a pie. With good pizza at affordable prices, this is a go-to pizza place for locals and a favorite of many families.

The pizza options at Hungry Howie’s are plentiful, making it easy to find a pie that your group will love. There are six size options (including a deep dish) and numerous topping choices, which are all complemented by the eatery’s flavored pizza crust. Go for a Butter, Butter Cheese, Asiago Cheese, Ranch, Onion, Cajun, Sesame or Garlic Herb crust at no extra charge, and you’ll get something a little different from what most pizza places offer. A stuffed crust is available for an additional $2, and that’s also always a popular option.

In addition to pizzas, the menu has a selection of baked submarine sandwiches, stuffed rolls, chicken wings and salads. Also don’t miss the desserts, of which the Howie Cookie — which is the size of a pie — is a particular favorite. For drinks, you can choose from a common assortment of Pepsi products and water.

If you have people with dietary restrictions in your group, a gluten-free pizza is also available for anyone with celiac disease. That and the salads cater to a wide variety of dietary needs.

No matter what you order, the food here is prepared quickly and offered at prices that families can afford. The exact prices vary depending on your pizza, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find better prices at a restaurant in town. Meal deals priced at $5.99, $10.99, $15.99 and $20.99 make it easy to find a combination that suits your group’s size well.

Howie’s may not have the fame of the most well-known New York City or Chicago pizzeria, but you won’t be disappointed. With some of the best pies in Port St. Joe, this is a great place to go when you have a hungry group of travelers. Everyone loves pizza, and you don’t have to break the bank on a single meal.

A few of our menu favorites at Hungry Howie’s include:

Buffalo Chicken Pizza
Pizza and chicken wings stand on their own, but they’re even better when you combine the two. The Buffalo Wing Pizza has the perfect amount of chicken, sauce and cheese, and you don’t even have to worry about getting your fingers messy — the crust is a built-in handle.

Build Your Own Pizza
Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to pizza, and the Build Your Own Pizza lets you fully customize your options. From size and toppings to crust and cheesiness, this is a pie that’s designed entirely by you.

Howie Wings
Mildly seasoned wings with your choice of sauce, these are the perfect complement to a pizza. Get a few extras, because leftover wings always make a great next-day snack.

Meatball Sub
A cult favorite, the Meatball Sub is a good choice at almost any pizzeria. Here, it comes with plenty of cheese, pizza sauce and meatballs — and gets folded over nearly like a calzone.

Howie Cookie
The Howie Cookie is a high-quality chocolate chip cookie that’s made with delicious Ghirardelli chips. The cookie is as large as a pizza, so you can share some with everyone in the group.
