Located right off Mobile Highway and next to the Escambia County Equestrian Center is the gorgeous Beulah Regional Park. This well-maintained greenspace offers everything anyone could want from a city park. If you are in the mood for sports, then this is the place to go, as it has courts for playing tennis, basketball, and volleyball.
If sports are not your forte, then perhaps you would rather come here with your dog. You can either walk the 1/3 mile trail, practicing obedience tasks like a pro. Or take them into the Bark Park to run and play off leash to their heart’s content. The dog park section is fully enclosed with secure six foot tall fences all around. They have two distinct areas fenced off to keep small and large dogs separate, so they can play without worry. The double-gated entryways provide even more security, helping you rest assured your dog cannot escape as people enter and exit.
When you just need a place to chill after a long day, this park will also come through for you. With its tall pine trees all around and benches set in the shade, you can always find somewhere to kick back and relax as you take in the view of the beautiful landscape around you.
Their most popular attractions include:
Tennis Courts
At the back of the park are two tennis courts, set side by side in a gated enclosure. These courts provide the perfect place to perfect your tennis game with friends, family, and neighbors. You may even find people willing to start a pickup game if you are on your own with equipment in tow.
Volleyball Court
Just to the side of the tennis courts is an open volleyball court for all to enjoy. This court is filled with sand for an authentic look and feel, providing a true challenge for those who enjoy the game. If volleyball is not your thing, then bring along some badminton gear and see how you fare.
Basketball Court
Although it is not much to look at, the basketball court sees the most action from sports-loving patrons who visit this park. With two hoops across from each other, full games are the norm, though fun challenges, like Horse, are enjoyed here, too.
Playground
The newly-revitalized playground provides plenty of opportunities for fun for kids of all ages. On the modern play equipment, they have ample places to test their climbing skills before whizzing down the slide and clambering back up to do it all over again. They also have swings, balance beams, and a sandbox to keep them busy and having a wonderful time.
Right next to the playground is a covered pavilion with picnic benches underneath where parents often chill while watching their kids play. The pavilion is also great for large gatherings and can potentially be reserved with a call to the parks department.
Insider Tips:
– The dog park does not have any water on tap, so make sure to bring your own.
– Doggie waste bags are provided just outside the Bark Park, though they do run out from time to time.
– Although this park now has bathrooms onsite, they are not always cleaned and well-stocked. So, just to be safe, carry your own toilet paper and hand sanitizer to avoid having to head home early.
