Florida’s weather may quickly become too hot or stormy to do outdoor activities. Add an indoor escape room to your vacation itinerary to keep the fun going, regardless of the weather. In Panama City Beach, go to Royal Escape Rooms at the Shoppes at Edgewater. You will have several rooms of varying difficulties to choose from. Use your wits and help from your friends or family to successfully solve the room’s puzzles in time.
Royal Escape Rooms started in 2019 as a locally operated escape room in the Panama City Beach area. Today, it continues to serve the community with two locations filled with unique escape room experiences.
While some escape rooms in the area have one or two rooms, the Shoppes at Edgewater location has five escape rooms that you can select from. Having more choices means that you can come back several times to this location and never do the same room twice. Additionally, this location may occasionally change the room options.
All rooms at Royal Escape Rooms require one hour to solve. If you finish within that hour, you win. However, if you cannot find a solution to get out of the room when the time runs out, a staff member will let you out. Regardless, you can get your picture taken to commemorate the occasion. Even groups that cannot solve the room in time still have a fun hour making the attempt.
When choosing among the rooms, look at the number of people and the difficulty level. Difficulty levels include normal, moderate, and challenging. If this experience will be your first escape room, choose one of the rooms with a normal difficulty level. While solving the room, a staff member will monitor your progress, and you can ask for help if you need a hint.
The number of participants for each room is important. Rooms that have a minimum of three people may have puzzles that require three sets of hands to solve and don’t accommodate couples. However, other rooms, have minimums of two, which allow couples to tackle the room on their own. However, try to gather as many people as possible for your escape room. More people make the room easier to solve in an hour because you have more eyes looking for clues.
Older children and teenagers especially enjoy solving escape rooms. Bring them along for the experience. If you have young or sensitive kids, avoid the horror-themed rooms, which might scare them too much.
Try one of the following highly popular rooms at Royal Escape Rooms’ Shoppes at the Edgewater location:
Outer Space Escape
The Outer Space Escape room at Royal Escape Room has a space travel theme. In this escape room, you need to find clues that will help you to leave the void of space into which your spaceship is hopelessly hurtling. If you love the Alien movie franchise, choose this escape room for sci-fi fun.
As a moderately difficult room, visitors noted that it was challenging without being impossible to solve. They also noted that this room’s theme appealed to kids who often could contribute to finding puzzles, keys, or doors needed to solve the room.
Area Z51 Zombie Escape
The Area Z51 Zombie Escape game puts you into a mobile research facility threatened by a virus and a self-destruct countdown triggered by a zombie virus-infected scientist. Puzzles in this room will have you finish the scientist’s work to create a cure for the scientist and defuse the self-destruct bomb.
Rated as a normal difficulty, many visitors still found this room very challenging and intense. This room might be a little too scary for kids. Consider another of the escape rooms if you will have kids with you.
Old and young both love solving puzzles inside the themed escape rooms at Royal Escape Rooms at the Shoppes at Edgewater. Bring the entire family for a way to have an hour of fun inside during your trip to Panama City Beach.
