Off The Hook Bar and Grill: Serving Up Laid Back Vibes in Panama City Beach

“Best food on the beach!” Amazing food, great place.” “Our absolute “go to” every time we’re in town.” “Love this place,” and “great service,” are just a few of the reviews we enjoyed before heading over to Off The Hook Bar and Grill on North Lagoon Drive in Panama City Beach. We checked it out, and it exceeded the reviews’ expectations. Oh my goodness, the gulf ocean views are amazing, and the breezes added a layer of comfort during our stay. It’s part tiki, part sports bar, part restaurant, part live entertainment. It’s a top open-air spot for food and fun right in Panama City Beach, and you’ll love it. The vibrant atmosphere is intoxicating and sets the foundation for a wonderful experience. It’s got that casual beach town charm that makes you eat to kick off your shoes and make yourself right at home. I felt like I was a regular, and it was our first time there!

Bring the whole family because Off the Hook, is all fenced in and swings for the kids to enjoy. This hot spot is a true local favorite. The food is fresh, the drinks are cold, and the energy is just right. Whether you are coming straight from the beach or dressed for a night out on the town, you’ll feel right at home.

We loved sitting under the canvas umbrella that overlooked the water. It just seemed to make everything taste better. The friendly, laid-back wait staff blended right into this beach- front atmosphere. And the menu is full of delicious fare ready to quench your thirst and appetite. I tried the fish tacos bursting with fresh fish, cheese, veggies, sour cream, and salsa. If you are a wing fan, this is the place to go. The chef suggests the naked or dry rub, but there are so many flavors on the menu, it will be hard to decide. We had the honey siriacha and mango haberno, and they were spicy, rich, and full of flavor. Ask for extra napkins and a cold beverage. You’re going to need plenty of both!

The menu is packed with fresh, flavorful dishes that showcase the best of the coast. Here are a few local favorites:

Blackened Grouper Tacos
Perfectly seasoned and served with a tangy slaw and cream that adds the ideal crunch.

Shrimp and Grits
A Southern classic done right. Creamy, cheesy grits topped with plump, flavorful shrimp in a rich sauce.

Fried Pickles
The ultimate starter. Crispy, tangy, and served with a zesty dipping sauce that’s downright addictive.

Lobster Mac and Cheese
Comfort food with a luxurious twist. So cheesy, so creamy, and packed with chunks of lobster.

Crab Cake Sandwich
Loaded with fresh crab and just enough seasoning to let the seafood shine. Served with a side of their crispy fries

Plus, the drink menu is filled with tropical cocktails, punch drinks, local craft beers, and wines to complement your meal. There are also fruit juice, soda, and non-alcoholic drinks. After you finish your meal, sit back, relax, and stay awhile. There’s no hurry here. You’re welcome to take in the sights, sounds and beach vibes as long as you like. Whether you visit during the day, or when the sun is setting on the horizon, you are sure to enjoy Off the Hook, Panama Beach style.
