Located in downtown Panama City, History Class Brewing Company loves sharing the stories of Bay County. To truly love a place, you have to understand its history. When food and drink are woven into local history, it creates an interesting perspective about a place.

When you visit History Class Brewing Company, you are at the heart of it all. Find this brewpub on 4th Street right off Harrison Avenue, across from the Martin Theatre and the Panama City Center for the Arts. This area of town is undergoing a renovation and it will be fun to see what comes out the other side.

The staff at History Class Brewing Company is welcoming and accommodating. The decor is funky and eclectic, as you would expect at an establishment that celebrates history. The venue is on the small side, but the patios make up for the lack of indoor space. Watch for opportunities for live music, playing corn hole, and birthday carnivals.

The craft beers are really tasty here. There is not one specialty for beer, they just brew what people will enjoy. Find hazy IPA’s, porters, stouts, and ciders. The brewers like to experiment, so it’s likely you will not find the same beer twice. Variety is the spice of life. Why not keep things interesting?

When it comes to food, the menu at History Class Brewing Company is not huge, but the food is good. The food menu is built around the beer and what would go well with it.

Here are a few favorites from the History Class Brewing Company menu:

Pimento Cheese and Firecrackers
Dip spiced saltine crackers in this “pimento perfection.” It’s a combination of cheese, pimiento peppers, and cream.

Giant Pretzel and Beer Cheese
Not many things go better with beer than a Bavarian pretzel with from-scratch beer cheese that features Belle Booth Blonde Ale.

Spicy Chicken Sammy
This sandwich at History Class Brewing Company includes hand-breaded chicken tenders that are covered with pimento cheese and topped with house-made spicy pickles and sriracha aioli. It comes on a potato roll with a side of fries.

“Rockin’ Bod” Pulled Pork and Salad
There’s no bun with this delight, so those who are avoiding carbs or gluten-free can indulge. This dish includes a pile of smoked pork that is topped with tangy BBQ sauce, homemade slaw, and pickles. On the side, find a cucumber, tomato, and red onion salad tossed in aged balsamic vinegar.

Bananama City Nanner Pudding
Made with three kinds of milk, fresh bananas, and incredibly creamy pudding between layers of Lorna Doone shortbread cookies, this pudding is amazing. Plans are in the works to make it world-famous.

History Class Brewing Company is child-friendly. The patio is the best place to sit with kids. Games and coloring sheets are provided to keep your kids entertained and there are plenty of menu choices that kids will enjoy.
