The Bottom Line:

Another Broken Egg bills itself as “Chef-Inspired Breakfast, Brunch, and Lunch,” and truly, it’s a good description. What we would add is the word “comfort.” Another Broken Egg provides pure comfort food of the breakfast variety. The fact that they provide so many comfort food options is a wonderful bonus.

The first thing you are likely to notice upon arrival at Another Broken Egg Cafe Panama City Beach is a line of customers waiting to get inside. Take our word for this, the line is a good sign. It means that others are willing to wait for the opportunity to indulge in clever twists on classic breakfast faves.

Another Broken Egg Cafe is part of a chain dedicated to providing meals they call “craveably delicious.” We’re pretty sure they invented the word “craveably” but totally agree with the description of their menu. Since their first restaurant opened in Old Mandeville, Louisiana in 1996, the chain has sought to provide memorable meals in a casual setting.

There is nothing remarkable about their dining room, but don’t let that dissuade you. Here, it is all about the food. In fact, we had a tough time winnowing down the massive Another Broken Egg Cafe menu to our favorites.

Here are some of them:

Banana Foster Pancakes
Two house-recipe pancakes are covered with bananas, pecans, Foster sauce, and whipped cream. Just to give you an idea of how delectable these pancakes are, allow us to break down the ingredients in the sauce: butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, dark rum, and banana liqueur. No, they don’t offer a bowl of sauce on its own, but perhaps they should (we would buy it).

Lemon Blueberry Goat Cheese Pancakes
Even if you’re not a huge fan of goat cheese, you’ll want to give this dish a chance. Two house-recipe pancakes are filled with blueberries and goat cheese, then topped off with lemon zest and whipped cream.

Chocolate Stuffed Belgian Waffle
As we narrowed down our list we were tempted to omit this dish, only because there’s nothing especially exotic about it. In the end, though, we knew we should mention it, simply because it is so ridiculously delicious. These Belgian waffles are stuffed with both white and dark chocolate, topped with strawberries, and flourished with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.

Lobster & Brie Omelette
You may want to plan on taking a long walk after indulging in this mouthwatering omelet. While we’re not precisely sure why Another Broken Egg Cafe Panama City Beach chose to use the French spelling of the word “omelette” anyone who creates a dish this amazing can spell it any way they want. This plate consists of a cream cheese-filled omelet with lobster meat sautéed in a champagne butter sauce. Add to that Brie, tomatoes, and green onions and you have a truly memorable dish. It’s served with an English muffin and grits or country potatoes.

Louisiana Crawfish Skillet
We recommend you consider this truly Southern dish in which Louisiana crawfish tails, andouille, onions, red peppers, country potatoes, and Jack cheese are blended into fluffy scrambled eggs. Any time you think of it you’ll remember Florida.

Smoked Salmon Benedict
If you enjoy Eggs Benedict you’re going to adore this clever twist of toasted bagel topped with cream cheese, smoked salmon, poached eggs, red onions, capers, and green onions. Each bite is a delight.

You really cannot go wrong with any of these options, but keep an open mind. There are plenty of other unforgettable items on the Another Broken Egg Cafe menu as well.

-Place an order of biscuit beignets to go. These fluffy pillows of biscuit dough, fried until golden brown and dusted with powdered sugar should not be missed.
