Renting a boat can feel a little overwhelming, and you certainly have plenty of options for boat rental outfitters in the Fort Walton Beach area. Jennie Lou’s Water Sports is an outfitter of iconic “pink pontoons”–and their friendliness and stress-free booking process have given them a reputation as one of the very best. Prices are very reasonable, too. Jennie Lou’s Water Sports is one of the more budget-friendly outfitters for full-day pontoon rentals. They also offer captained boat tours so you can take in all the views with none of the responsibility.
Pink Pontoon Rentals
Renting a pontoon gives you and your group the freedom to explore at your own pace, on your own schedule. Jennie Lou’s Water Sports rentals can accommodate up to 11 people, and you can bring anything you’d like on board (except a grill). Relaxing on the water, jumping in whenever you feel like it… it’s hard to beat that kind of experience. If you’ve never rented a pontoon boat before, you’ll need to take an online test and fill out a form for a Florida boating license, a fairly quick and painless process.
Not sure about taking out a rental boat? Jennie Lou’s Water Sports pontoons have a reputation for being fairly new, clean, and in great condition; you can trust that everything will work as it should when you head out. And staff are incredibly helpful, so don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions or concerns–they won’t make you feel ignorant for asking new-boater questions. The staff will show you the ropes before you hit the water and make sure you know how to get where you want to go. Heading out to snorkel and explore at Crab Island is probably the most popular activity.
Sunset Dolphin Cruise
If you’d rather take a ride on a boat that you don’t have to pilot yourself, Jennie Lou’s Water Sports also offers a couple of cruises. The sunset dolphin cruise features views of the harbor or Destin Spoil Island, both locations where you can often spot dolphins. Kick back, enjoy a drink, and watch the sunset over the water–it doesn’t get much better.
Harbor Firework Cruise
Head to the Destin Harbor any Thursday at 9 pm during the summer months, and you’re in for a sparkling treat. The Destin fireworks are best seen from the water, and Jennie Lou’s Water Sports harbor fireworks cruise gives you the best possible vantage point to observe the fireworks in comfort.
Location
Jennie Lou’s Water Sports is located just off Brooks Street beside the Parkway Harbor in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Insider Tips:
-Jennie Lou’s Water Sports staff will help you load your belongings onto your pontoon and get you all set up to go, but they do ask that you arrive in no more than two vehicles at their facilities–so carpooling is a good idea if you have multiple groups converging on the water.
-Florida state law requires obtaining a boating license before taking a motorized boat out on the water. The entire process, including a brief boating test, can be completed online. Drivers must be at least 16 years old and have a valid government-issued ID.
