The Hub 30A -- An Family-Friendly Outdoor Food Court Brimming With Atmosphere
Local Expert's Rating:
4.5 / 5
The Bottom Line:

The Hub is an outdoor eatery with a big screen and multiple food vendors, ranging from burgers to seafood to ice cream. Prices are a bit steep, but you're paying for the atmosphere as well as the food: a generous, expansive outdoor dining area, a big screen to watch the game, and a family-friendly environment with plenty of space for the younger set to spread out and play. You'll find a full bar and fairly consistent high-quality food from each of the vendors--an easy sell when you're looking for a stop that serves everyone in your group.

Looking for an all-in-one food stop that checks all the boxes? The Hub seems to do it all–at least in fair weather. The Hub consists of several high-quality food vendors and a few gift shops, all built around an expansive outdoor eating area featuring a big screen–perfect for watching the game, the Kentucky Derby, or whatever else happens to be airing at the time. You’ll find plenty of space for the younger crowd to spread out and play, plenty of menu options to keep everyone in your group happy, and high-quality food and atmosphere.

When you step into The Hub, you’ll encounter eight eats and drinks locations: an all-American burger joint, a BBQ place, brick oven pizza, a seafood restaurant, a smoothie joint, Mexican-inspired soul food, and two sweets stops one for New Orleans-style snowballs and one for gourmet ice cream. Prices at each of the restaurants feel steep, and portions aren’t always generous. But the food itself is consistently fresh and tasty, and the beautifully-maintained location, including the outdoor eating areas, big screen, and family-friendly atmosphere, justifies the higher price tags.

The Hub’s Restaurants include…

Duo’s All-American Eats
This hometown burger joint offers mouthwatering cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries, salads, sandwiches, and a full bar. You’ll also find a slew of classic Americana kid’s menu options at this location.

Local Smoke
This smokehouse serves up locally-raised beef, pork, and chicken. It might not be the best Southern-style BBQ you’ll ever eat; the brisket, in particular, can be a bit dry for some palates. But in general, you can expect fresh, tender, well-seasoned entrees and even better sides.

Super Freeze
This is your go-to stop for gourmet ice cream cones, specialty shakes, and more fancy toppings than you’ll know what to do with. Perfect when you need a little something extra after a day of exploring the Watersound Beach area.

Pineapple at the Hub
Here, you’ll find freshly-blended smoothies, juices, and fresh fruits, among other fresh, healthy offerings. A fabulous way to offset the more calorie-laden menu options at some of The Hub’s other vendors.

Sauce It
The newest member of The Hub, Sauce It offers gourmet brick oven pizza that’ll impress even the pickiest of pizza connoisseurs.

Buddy’s Seafood Market
Buddy’s specializes in fresh, local seafood and certified wild-caught Gulf shrimp. You’ll find all the seafood staples here, and they’re a consistent fan favorite at The Hub.

Macho Taco
Get your taco fix at Macho Taco, the Mexican-inspired soul food stop that’s a little unexpected in the best possible way. You’ll find refreshing flavor combinations and border-style staple dishes that hit the spot every time.

Jack & Diane’s New Orleans-Style Snowballs
Whether you call them snow cones, shave ice, snowballs, or another variation, you’ll probably love Jack & Diane’s take. A huge variety of flavors, sizes, and specialty dishes make this a standout place to grab a cool, sweet treat.

The Hub 30A is located directly on 30A just a few blocks from Camp Creek Lake and the Gulf Lakes Public Beach Access.
