It all began here at the original Destin Harbor Boardwalk. Surrounded by this Gulf beach community’s white sands, crystal clear emerald waters, exceptional fishing, and resident dolphins, Destin Boardwalk is the main attraction for many who choose to vacation here. What is so magical about Destin and the Emerald Coast? It starts with the Destin Harbor Boardwalk.

The Destin Harbor Boardwalk is the hub of watersports activity in Destin with something for young and old alike. The more adventurous can take to the skies above the waters of Destin Harbor by Flyboarding. Remember Marty McFly in “Back to the Future” and his flying skateboard? This is the aquatic version. It is not inexpensive and reservations need to be made in advance but you will be left with some amazing memories and images.

One of the more popular activities here is parasailing under colorful sails soaring into the clear blue skies. Kids can parasail starting at just age six and double and triple parasails are available for the perfect family adventure that will leave everyone smiling. You may even catch a glimpse of some dolphins or sharks while airborne.

Dolphin watching is almost a mandatory part of any visit to Destin and Destin Harbor Boardwalk. Select from a choice of tour lengths using a variety of water-going vessels. Search for Destin’s most popular residents on anything from a pontoon boat to a speedboat to Destin’s Largest Jet-Ski ride. Looking for something a little more laid back? There are a number of cruises that depart from the Destin Harbor Boardwalk area including sunset cruises and a Harbor Lights Tiki Cruise with an amazing evening view of the Destin Harbor Boardwalk from the water.

Known as “The Luckiest Fishing Village” Destin and Destin Harbor Boardwalk offer an almost uncountable array of fishing options. Choose from Inshore Bay Fishing with Emerald Coast Bay Charters, Emerald Coast Outfitters Fishing Charters along with a number of party boat deep-sea fishing excursions. There are group charters available, private charters you can experience for a day, shark fishing adventures, and even kid-friendly fishing trips. The Captains are friendly and the fishing is plentiful. Don’t have or didn’t pack your gear? No problem. Most tours and excursions have you covered. 

Experience Destin’s unique Crab Island for an up-close view of dolphins by renting a wave-runner, taking a tour, or chartering a small boat. The clear waters make this an awesome opportunity to try snorkeling.

Destin Harbor Boardwalk offers plenty of off-water activities as well. Shop at Kitty Hawk Kites, Aloha Surf Company, and spoil yourself with the textures, softness, and comfort at Cariloha. Dining options range from fun to fancy. Choices in and near Destin Harbor Boardwalk include Jackacuda’s Seafood and Sushi, Margaritaville Destin, Harry T’s, Charlie’s Burger Bar, Carlito’s Deli, and Tailfin’s Ale House and Oyster Bar. Enjoy the atmosphere at Crab Island Cantina, Grand Vista Bar & Grille, La Famiglia, and Vinny McGuire’s Pizza. Top it off with a trip to the Fudgery or a stop at Coyote Ugly. – Destin is an exceptional destination for photography. The combination of beaches, boats, seagulls, dolphins, and herons makes photography almost irresistible. Since there are three separate bodies of water converging at Destin (The Gulf of Mexico, the Destin Harbor, and Choctawhatchee Bay) opportunities for exceptional shots are frequent.  Many feel the best time to shoot is in the early morning and evening.
