No shirt, no shoes, no problem! Piper’s Kitchen is situated just across the sand in Alys Beach. A small counter-serve pit-stop, Piper’s doesn’t offer a huge selection of menu offerings–but they’re good at what they do. Fresh street-style corn and tacos, Aguas Frescas, and canned beer and wine round out their lunch options. Their breakfast bowls are well worth the stop, too, from the basic sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit to their mouthwatering chorizo bowl. On the lunch menu, you’ll find a range of salads, quesadillas, and tacos with a variety of meats; the chipotle biscuit taco is a fan favorite.
When you walk up to Piper’s front window, you probably won’t be blown away by the food trucks’ exterior appearance; it’s nothing fancy. Unfortunately, the friendliness of the service provided can be inconsistent. But prices are reasonable and for many, the consistently excellent food more than makes up for the sometimes curt service.
Some of our favorite menu items include…
Chipotle Brisket Tacos
All of Piper’s taco offerings pack a punch, and whether you prefer mahi-mahi, shrimp, chorizo and potato, or another taco filling, you’ll find what your heart desires. But repeat visitors keep raving about the chipotle brisket tacos, which offer over-the-top savory flavor, slow-cooked to perfection.
Jasmine Rice Bowl
A hearty rice bowl overflowing with rich flavor, the jasmine rice bowl features Mexican corn, black beans, guac, tomato, pickled carrot, and Romaine lettuce–all on a bed of steaming jasmine rice. This simple but savory combination of flavors and textures checks all the boxes for us, and it’s the perfect portion for a hearty lunch salad.
Piper’s classic breakfast bowl piles on the protein: chorizo, sunny-side-up eggs, tater tots, corn salsa, fresh cilantro, and cotija cheese. It’s a great way to start your day with just the right amount of spice.
Piper’s offers an array of fabulous menu items for the pint-sized travelers along for the ride. Their chicken fingers, cheese quesadillas, corn dogs, fruit cups, and nachos are all popular among the younger crowd. Not every food truck has kid-friendly options for those pickier travelers, so this is a refreshing menu section for families traveling together.
Piper’s Kitchen is located just off East 30A across from Alys Beach. It’s an easy walk from the beachfront or surrounding areas. You’ll also find other restaurants, bars, and shops nearby.
